Bellflower, USA

A burglary suspect is in custody this afternoon after a bold robbery occurred this morning on the 10000 Block of Park Street here in Bellflower that ended with shots being fired by a Sheriff deputy.

At around 9:30 a.m. today, neighbors over on Park Street noticed a man described only as an adult black male committing a burglary and quickly called 911.  When members of the Lakewood Sheriff's station arrived on the scene, they quickly spotted the suspect and a short foot pursuit took place.

The suspect then pulled out a hand gun from his waistband and this is when the officer involved shooting occurred.  The suspect was not hit, and was quickly taken into custody and transported to the Lakewood Sheriff's Station where he faces burglary charges.

The name of the suspect has not been released, and no one was injured.  Whenever a Deputy involved shooting takes place, an internal investigation is launched so the full facts of the case can be documented.

As soon as the suspects name is released, I will be updating the community.
