BOWLIN-FOR-OUR-HEROS!

Cerritos Lanes: I wanted salute the organizers of the First Combat Engineer Battalion group here in Cerritos for hosting a great community fundraising "Bowl-A-Thon" last Saturday at the Cerritos Lanes.  Sorry for taking a week to post this...but all good deeds should always be recognized.

The First CEB's at nearby Camp Pendelton have been "officially" adopted by the City of Cerritos and the entire community a couple of years ago.  I love this organization.  They do amazing things to help our Troops and their families....especially during this very long war we are engaged in overseas.

More than $3,000 during this afternoon event.  More than 100 local community members, and leaders joined dozens of Marines from the First CEB's at the event.  Hats off to JOANN WITT and DOROTHY OWEN for Co-Chairing this afternoon of fun.

Seen:  BRIAN HEWS, Publisher of the Los Cerritos Community News; CHARLES SOOTER, one of the co-founders of the First CEB Cerritos; Arts Commissioner MARIA SKILES; Cerritos Councilman JIM EDWARDS; former Cerritos Mayor BARRY RABBITT;  Member of the WHITNEY HIGH SCHOOL KEY CLUB (above); KATHY MATSUMOTO, Assistant City Manger in Cerritos; VERA ECKLES, Artesia Community Leader.

Congratlations of a great afternoon!
