Get ready for mud slides in the "Burn Area" of Los Angeles County today and the next several days

Some sections of the Foothill areas of La Canada Flintridge and the other recent burn areas are beginning to evacuate this morning, due to the heavy rain storms that are hitting Southern California this weekend.

Mud slides are already beginning to happen in parts of the La Canada Flintridge community, and also in San Pedro, according to local television news stations here in So Ca.

A flash flood watch has is in effect through today and Sunday.  During the past 8 hours, some parts of Los Angeles County have had up to 3.75 inches of rain...and lots more is expected today.

THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* La Canada Flintridge, the burn areas along the 210 Freeway cooridor in Los Angeles County,

*Ventura County burn areas.

* We could get HEAVY RAIN... with UP TO ONE INCH PER HOUR all over the entire EASTERN and SOUTHEASTERN HALF of LOS ANGELES COUNTY ALL DAY LONG!

In other words...stay inside...stay dry...if your in danger....take precautions....stay off the roads....don't be stupid.

ONE BAND OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT LOS ANGELES COUNTY EARLY THIS MORNING. THIS IS EXPECTED TO EXIT LOS ANGELES COUNTY BY MID MORNING. HOWEVER... NUMEROUS SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO AFFECT SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA THROUGH THE DAY TODAY AS THE CENTER OF A STRONG UPPER LOW MOVES THROUGH THE STATE. SOME OF THE SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE RAINFALL RATES OVER ONE HALF INCH PER HOUR... SO THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE RECENT BURN AREAS.
