FIGHT ON! Former San Gabriel Valley Assemblyman charged with assault with a deadly weapon after allegedy running over parking lot attendant at USC Football game.

POLITICAL BAD BOY OF THE WEEK:  WALTER KARABIAN!

LOS ANGELES – Former state legislator Walter Karabian was charged today with misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly hitting a female parking attendant during a USC football game in December.

The 71-year-old Karabian is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 22 at the East Los Angeles Superior Court, Department K.

On Dec. 5, Karabian allegedly tried to drive his car into a parking structure at Exposition Park but was stopped by an attendant who told him he did not have the proper permit. After being refused entry, he allegedly drove his car forward, striking the parking attendant several times. The woman was not seriously injured.

USC lost that crucial game to Arizona 21-17 that ended the Trojans hopes for a Rose Bowl bid.  I wonder if this is a case of "Trojan Road Rage?"

The District Attorney’s office declined last month to file felony charges and referred the case to the City Attorney’s office. Due to a conflict, the City Attorney’s office referred the case back for misdemeanor filing.

If convicted, he faces up to a year in county jail.
