BREAKING NEWS: Stabbing of Don Bosco Catholic High School Principal splashed across newscasts here in Los Angeles

The stabbing of Don Bosco Catholic High School Principal Gary Catalano has been covered on serveral local news channels here in Southern California tonight, including KABC Channel 7 Eyewitness News and KNBC News Channel 4.

NBC Channel 4 News in Los Angeles also covered the story tonight and here is what they reported:


"A 15-year-old student allegedly stabbed the principal at Don Bosco High School in Rosemead on Friday, NBCLA has confirmed.

"At approximately 12:15 p.m., Mr. (Gary) Catalano, the school's principal, was assaulted by a student. The student is now in custody. Mr. Catalano is in good condition and has been transported to a hospital in good condition. Our concern is for our principal's well-being and the safety of our students," said school president Sharon Morano in a statement.

The boy used a pocketknife to stab Catalano twice in the back, said Deputy Guillermina Saldana. The stabbing happened in a school office, according to sources.  Don Bosco Techncial Institute is an all-male Catholic high school located at 1151 N. San Gabriel Blvd."
