Welcome to the HOOD! Cerritos College has a Super NEW President in Dr. Linda Lacy!

I want to give a SHOUT OUT tonight to the NEWEST Superintendent/President over at Cerritos College. Dr. Linda Lacy is taking the Helm at Falcon Way, just in time for the NEW school year!
She has an impressive background, and tonight I want to extend a HUGE WELCOME to Linda and wish her WELL on here in our wonderful 'Hood! Go get em' Girl!

Cerritos College Board of Trustees Names Dr. Linda Lacy as New Superintendent/President

NORWALK, Calif. – August 13, 2009 – Cerritos College announced today that its board of trustees has named Dr. Linda Lacy as superintendent/president of Cerritos College.

The selection of Dr. Lacy as the college’s permanent leader was approved at a special meeting of the Board of Trustees held August 12. Her start date is still to be determined.
Dr. Lacy is currently serving as vice chancellor of student services and operations at the Riverside Community College District. Dr. Lacy has dedicated 23 years to serving the Riverside Community College District in multiple capacities beginning in 1986 as an instructor and coach. She also served twelve years as an instructor and assistant principal in a K-12 system in Oklahoma.
During her tenure as vice chancellor of student services and operations, she supervised district functions such as student financial services, DSPS, health services, food services, bookstore, college outreach, and college safety and police. Her administrative experience involves budget formulation and regulation, development of Board Policy, evaluation of managers, and development of the program review process for student services. Dr. Lacy’s past interim presidential duties included overseeing the general daily operation of Riverside City College; the development of the Educational and Facilities Master Plan; the Accreditation Self-study; the renovation of the Quad; and served as liaison with the Wood Streets Association.
In addition to her time as vice chancellor at Riverside City College, Dr. Lacy served as the past chair of the Riverside City Campus Strategic Planning Committee; past president of the Management Association; a graduate, chair, and past president of the Greater Riverside Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program (class of 1999); and past president (2006-07) of the California Community College Chief Student Services Administrators Association (CCCCSSAA).
Dr. Lacy has been very active within the community serving on the Boards of the Greater Chamber of Commerce, Riverside Downtown Partnership, the Mayor’s Cultural Accountability Performance, the City Task Force, and Wells Fargo Inland Bank. She is currently a member of the District Strategic Planning Committee, International Relations Council and of the Higher Learning Federation Taskforce.
William C. Farmer, who has led the college as acting president since July 2008, will continue to serve the college as vice president of academic affairs. Dr. Marilyn Brock, who has served in this position while Farmer was acting president, will end her interim assignment.
