Breaking News: Palos Verdes Peninsula is burning OUT of CONTROL tonight!

MASSIVE FIRE ERUPTS IN PV!
10:57 p.m.
The Palos Verdes Peninsula broke out into a MAJOR blaze tonight at around 8 p.m.

Evacuations around Portuguese Bend and other areas are now underway.

Television news footage showed it burning through a wildlife area and uphill toward Rolling Hills and Rolling Hills Estates. Six multi-million dollar homes have already burned and many, many others are in danger of going up in flames.

Palos Verdes is a lush brush urban Forest in the South Bay of Los Angeles County. The dry area hasn't seen a fire here in almost 30 years. So, the amount of "fuel" here is massive.

The evacuations were in the neighborhoods on Portuguese Bend Road, Amber Sky Drive and Crest Road, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

More than 250 firefighters, aided by five water-dropping helicopters, are already battling the blaze in thick, dry vegetation on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

If your in the area, stay away, get out of the area. Tonight is going to be a rough night for firefighters and residents alike. It is now considered to be a THREE ALARM FIRE, at this time.
