GLENDALE –
I blogged about this in the past, and today a man has been formally accuses of stealing from two popular Roman Catholic Churches here in the Glendale and Burbank area.
Back in September and December of last year, two churches was burglarized from cash in the "Donation Boxes" in Holy Family Catholic Church in Glendale and St. Finbars Catholic Church in Burbank.
Image by H.L.I.T. via FlickrPeter Manuel Galindro, a 52-year-old Los Angeles man is being charged today of looting the church donation boxes and was to appear in Glendale Superior Court on arraignment of two counts of burglary in connection with thefts.
Not sure how much was taken in the two incidents, but apparently Galindro has been in trouble in the past with the law.
Galindro was convicted in Los Angeles County five times for theft between February 1990 and January 2008. Galindro also was convicted in June 1990 of bringing, sending or possessing a deadly weapon in jail or prison, according to the complaint.
The defendant is charged in case No. GA082211. If convicted as charged, Galindro faces a maximum term of eight years, eight months in state prison.

I for one am praying this guy gets the max. He's been a preditor at our prish in Los Feiz for the past 10 years. Ran up and grabbed the collection basket right off the altar during Mass!
