Central California:
Oh oh. Be prepared today, just in case..
A large part of Central California and the southern part of the San Francisco bay area have been rattled by as many as 85 small to moderate earthquakes today, ranging in the 3.0 to 4.5 area. Three fault lines, the Vergeles, the Calaveras, amd the daddy of them all, the San Andreas Fault in the area of San Juan Bautista seem to be the most active this morning, and now going into the afternoon.
Our "peeps" at the U.S. Geological Survey (Hey Dr. Kate and Dr. Lucy!) are reporting that the strongest in the series of quakes was felt as far away as San Francisco as well as surrounding cities such as Salinas, San Jose, Gilroy and Monterey.
Hummmm. Are you prepared for the "big one?"
