2-2-10 9:23 a.m.

So Cal- Two people were killed this morning at two different freeway crash sites around our world.

These two locations have seen way too many deadly accidents recently, and something has to be done about these needless deaths.

A motorcyclist was killed at about 7:30 a.m. at the transition from the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway to the southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway, said California Highway Patrol Officer Jennifer Connelly. The victim died at the scene.

According to the preliminary report, the victim was thrown from his motorcycle and ended up on a street below the transition road. This is one of the most dangerous interchanges in California.

In the other deadly incident, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed today on a freeway transition road in Downey.

The man, in his 50s, died at the scene of the accident, which occurred about 5:20 a.m. at the transition from the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway to the southbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, said CHP Officer Jennifer Connelly. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
