Who is pulling the puppet strings of Assemblyman Roger Hernandez, and WHY does he want Downey Mayor Pro Tem Alex Saab OUT OF OFFICE

Saab will be a guest LIVE IN STUDIO on my show Saturday night, June 6th!
Sacramento continues to be totally out of control....yep...they are doing it to us again....

Downey Mayor Pro Tem Alex Saab will be my guest LIVE IN STUDIO on Saturday night to talk about how Sacramento legislators are trying to influence local government and elections…and how these same politicians are trying to abolish Downey’s at-large Council seat and force the City to redistrict immediately into an five-district map (or switch to a four-district, at-large Mayor, system).

I am going to be telling it LIKE it is and exposing the game playing going on behind the scenes with Assemblyman Roger Hernandez who is pulling puppet strings in this bizarre power grab.

Thanks Alex Saab for your participation in advance!

Here is more from Mario Guerra’s recent post on Facebook about the situation:

“Assembly Member Roger Hernandez ( NOT from Downey ) is moving bills in the Assembly (and sent at least one of them to the Senate already) that would abolish Downey’s at-large Council seat and force the City to redistrict immediately into an five-district map (or switch to a four-district, at-large Mayor, system). We currently have four district representatives and one at large citywide seat, currently held by Mayor Pro Tem Alex Saab. The two bills are AB 278 and AB 277. AB 278 would require all general-law cities with populations over 100,000 that have at-large elections to switch to by-district elections. That would not affect Downey, as it is a charter city. But then AB 277 removes the charter city exemptions from AB 278 and specifically calls out mixed by-district / at-large systems such as Downey [and Oakland] as not being exempt, in its Section 14026(a)(3)..Since Downey has elected councilmen and women from every race and in every district, the argument that we are depriving any particular race or culture from elected office is mute in our City. This is another waste of taxpayer money and influence. Sacramento legislators need to let local government and residents govern and elect their own officials.”

Most of these “lawmakers” in Sacramento are totally out of control…and these “power grabs” have no place in our Democracy here in California.

Pass the word. Tune in!
