Tragic situation took place in Stanton this morning, and we all need to keep a watchful eye out to find the person who did this horrific crime.
STANTON, Calif. – (June 16, 2015) – On Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at approximately 4:43 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a vehicle versus bicyclist traffic collision on Beach Boulevard, south of Cerritos Avenue. Deputies arrived and discovered a male, adult lying in the roadway deceased from his injuries.
Based on the preliminary investigation, it appears the victim fell off his bicycle into the far right lane while riding through an alleyway adjacent to lanes of southbound Beach Boulevard, between Cerritos Avenue and Main Street. The bicyclist was subsequently run over by the suspect vehicle travelling southbound Beach Boulevard in the number four lane. According to witness statements, the suspect vehicle, a dark-colored SUV, slowed for a short distance before leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was last seen southbound Beach Boulevard towards Katella Avenue.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored SUV; there is no description of the driver or possible passengers.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s Major Accident Reconstruction Team is handling the investigation.
