Death of Raul Rodriguez has sadden the world around us....

I just saw on Facebook that my friend Raul Rodriguez has left this Earth.

Raul was a "hometown hero" here in the Norwalk, Cerritos, Santa Fe Springs area and we gladly shared him and his talents with the entire world each and every New Years Day when he proudly rode down Colorado Boulevard beaming on one of this magic floral creations (aka: floats) in the Tournament of Roses Parade.

Fox News Anchor Christine Devine posted the following on Facebook just a couple of hours ago....

"So sad to share the news of the passing of my dear friend Raul Rodriguez, the famed Rose Parade float designer. Raul was an LA icon designing 10+ floats at a time each year. The parade, we, have lost a shining light."

I hope everyone can pause a moment to truly pay tribute to Raul tonight.

His passing is a personal loss for so many of us who knew him and loved him for most of his entire life.

Raul was like Walt Disney in my book.  The made dreams come true.

I am so saddened.

RIP

May he enjoy the beauty of Heaven and whisper his ideas to future float designers. May his soul and all souls to the Mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
