A 70-year-old tennis referee was arrested today in New York City on a felony warrant charging her with the April murder of her 80-year-old husband in their Woodland Hills residence, the District Attorney’s Office announced.
Lois Ann Goodman, (dob 1-6-42), was arrested by LAPD detectives on a felony warrant filed Aug. 14 by Deputy District Attorney Lisa Tanner. She is charged with the April 17 murder of her husband, Alan Goodman. Goodman allegedly bludgeoned her husband to death with a coffee mug.
Officials said Goodman was in New York City preparing to serve as a referee for the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament. She is in custody awaiting extradition to Los Angeles.
Prosecutors will ask that her bail be set at $1 million. If convicted, she faces up to life in state prison.
