I just got a text message from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department that a murder has taken place on Arkansas Street in Artesia. Here is all the information I have and I have a call into the Media Division of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. As soon as i get an update, I will keep you updated. Scary situation....

Members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Department have assembled at the 119000 block of Arkansas Street in Artesia to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man. Arkansas Street is located south of 166th Street and near Pioneer Boulevard in Artesia.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Los Cerritos Community Newspaper is working to get additional information about the incident and will have updated information as soon as it is available to the media and public.
