WATCH: Kelly Thomas beating video released by Orange County DA; Viewer warning advised
This is one example why an "open and honest" free media is so essential in our community. Tonight, members of the Orange County District Attorney's Office have released the "official" footage of the beating of Fullertonhomeless man Kelly Thomas. This is horrific to watch, but everyone needs to have the ability to make their own decisions about this case that has dominated our local headlines for the past year.
Members of the Orange County District Attorney’s Office have released the footage of the brutal beating of Kelly Thomas, a mentally ill homeless man, at a Fullerton bus depot on the night of July 5, 2011.
Los Cerritos Community Newspaper and other media outlets were sent a copy of the video on Monday evening. The altercation of the well publicized beating begins at 15:20 into the clip.

cer Manuel Ramos was charged with second-degree murder in Thomas’ death, and Cpl. Jay Cicinelli faces involuntary manslaughter and excessive use of force charges.

Los Cerritos Community Newspaper Publisher Brian Hews and Reporter Randy Economy were featured on KFI AM 640 on the Tim Conway Jr. Show on Thursday, October 17 to discuss the arrest of Los Angeles County Assessor John Noguez, Property Tax Agent Ramin Salari and Assessor Major Property Appraiser Mark McNeil on dozens of felony charges.

Los Cerritos Community Newspaper’s exclusive groundbreaking coverage into the corruption probe at the Los Angeles County Assessor’s Office is now the focal point of a multi part series that began airing Wednesday night on Fox News 11 in Southern California.
