CONNOR PENHALL DEATH: Tatsuhiko Sakamoto Charged with Manslaughter in Death of Actor’s Son

We lost an amazing young LIGHT this week with the passing of Connor Penhall. He was just beginning to shine and "come into his own world." An arrest has been made in the case. My thoughts go out to all of Connor's friends, family, and fans, and also to the family of the person being held responsible in this crime. Your thoughts?

From the LOS ANGELES COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY OFFICE:

POMONA – An Arcardia man was charged today with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated in the death of the 21-year-old son of actor and motorcycle racing champion Bruce Penhall. Tatsuhiko Sakamoto, 37 (dob 6-26-74), also was charged in case KA097497 with DUI causing injury, driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol causing injury and a special allegation of causing great bodily injury. He is being held on $200,000 bail. Sakamoto allegedly struck and killed Connor Penhall, of Corona, who was doing construction work on a closed section of the westbound side of the San Bernardino 10 Freeway. Sakamoto allegedly drove through traffic cones closing the freeway at Francisquito Avenue about midnight Thursday. Penhall was pronounced dead at the scene, said the California Highway Patrol. Sakamoto is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at Pomona Superior Court, Department N. The case has been assigned to Deputy District Attorney Christopher Stogel to prosecute. If convicted, Sakamoto faces up to 10 years in state prison.

No chance in the world for 10 years. More like 2-3, overcrowding will let him get away with his crime just like the others before him.

This guy should be in for life. He knew what he was doing. People like this should be labeled a murder and get the same as all the other murders. He was a family friend and will never be forgotten

Records I found elsewhere indicate that Sakamoto Tatsuhiko was unlicensed as well.

So we have an unlicensed foreigner that killed a local 21 year old.

He should be sentenced to death!

Our legal system is so screwed up!

This wasn't an accident!

He got behind the wheel of his vehicle (more than likely not the first time) while intoxicated. Drove past and around parked work vehicles with a half mile of lighted/flashing signage and cones. Hit Conner then tried to run away.

That is straight out murder.

Further research I found public records for his home address.
Here it is in case you want to send a letter expressing your feelings on this matter.
Maybe his family can forward them to him in prison.
