Michael Green: Man Charged in Former Girlfriend’s Shooting

VAN NUYS – A 26-year-old Hollywood man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend in the head at a Studio City hotel was charged today with attempted murder, the District Attorney’s Office announced. Michael Green (dob 10-03-85) is charged in case No. LA070482 with one count of attempted, willful, deliberate, premeditated murder with a special allegation that he personally used a firearm causing great bodily injury. Green is expected to be arraigned this afternoon in Department 100 of Van Nuys Superior Court. The defendant is accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend on March 19 during an argument. The shooting took place at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, where the couple was staying with their two children. Following the shooting, Green fled the scene with the children – ages 1 ½ and six months. Officers of the Los Angeles Police Department arrested the defendant in Canoga Park later that day. The children were uninjured. The victim is in stable condition, according to authorities. Green’s bail is recommended at $2 million. If convicted as charged, he faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in state prison. Deputy District Attorney Andrew Barras is assigned to the case.
