Kinde Durkee: Guilty plea "likely" in $8M embezzlement case for CA Democratic party money bag lady, according to Politico

Kinde Durkee....get ready for the slammer....

AMAZING development in the criminal case involving California Democratic party Treasurer Kinde Durkee. Politico is reporting that she will "likely" plead GUILTY in her EMBEZZLEMENT CASE.

I just got a note from one of her victims, Orange County Assemeblyman Jose Solario and wanted to share this with my blog readers.

From Assemblyman Solario:

"In response to the Politico news article that ran this evening, "Kinde Durkee: Guilty plea likely in $8M embezzlement," State Assemblyman Jose Solorio released the following statement:

"I'm pleased the FBI's investigation on my behalf and hundreds of other victims has found success. I've asked that the FBI be aggressive in making sure Durkee serves as many years as possible in federal prison.

In finalizing a long sentence term, I'm hoping the FBI and courts send a message to treasurers, accountants and book keepers around the country that defrauding their clients is a serious matter.

I also believe that as more information is made public, it will become clear that Durkee was able to defraud her clients because of the direct cooperation her firm had with First California Bank. Through that cooperation, Durkee's clients lost approximately $10 million due to fraudulent activity. Many red flags were raised, and the First California Bank did nothing in over 10 years to stop Durkee."

Below are the first few paragraphs in the Durkee news article that ran in Politico this evening:

"Kinde Durkee, the California political operative at the heart a major embezzlement scandal, is expected to plead guilty later this week to stealing more than $8 million from her clients, including Sen. Dianne Feinstein and other California Democrats, according to sources close to the case.

The stunning amount of money that Durkee took makes it the biggest such embezzlement case in U.S. election history and one that will have impact far down the line on the California ticket this fall.

Federal prosecutors will recommend that Durkee, who will also plead guilty to at least five counts of fraud, be sentenced to from 11 to 14 years in prison, the sources added."

...Kinde needs to turn the tables of all of those who helped her rip off so many political donors for so many many years who are hiding deep inside the California Democratic Party....

None of the money that Durkee allegedly diverted has been recovered at this time.
The plea deal between the Justice Department and Durkee could be unveiled as early as Friday.
The U.S. Attorney’s office in Sacramento, which is overseeing the Durkee investigation, declined to comment for this report. That office filed a new “information” document in the Durkee case on Tuesday. Such documents are normally sign a plea deal is imminent.
Durkee’s attorney, Daniel Nixon, did not return a call or e-mail seeking comment.
Durkee, a longtime Democratic treasurer with ties to hundreds of state, local and federal campaigns, has been charged by the Justice Department with improperly diverting at least $660,000 from a California state lawmaker’s campaign account.
Durkee is suspected of having diverted $4.5 million from Feinstein’s Senate committee alone. Feinstein’s campaign has already filed suit against Durkee and First California Bank, the financial institution where the reelection funds were being kept. The wealthy Feinstein, who is up for reelection this year, cut a $5 million check to her own campaign to replace the missing money.
Reps. Linda and Loretta Sanchez (D-Calif.), along with Rep. Susan Davis (D-Calif.), lost roughly $1.4 million to Durkee’s alleged improper activities. Like Feinstein, the three lawmakers have sued Durkee and First California Bank
