J. Deedrick, Watch Commander of the Cerritos Sheriff's Department said that the incident took place at 3:39 p.m. when the suspect, described as a black male, wearing black pants and a black shirt, entered the Comerica Bank at South Street and Gridley Road and that an undetermined amount of money was taken.
Deedrick said that five to six patrol units from both the Cerritos and Lakewood Sheriffs stations responded to the scene, and an investigation is underway.
Deedrick said that it was not known if the suspect was carrying a weapon, or how much money was stolen.
