Teacher Mark Berndt: The Miramonte Monster

Been watching the television news tonight in the So Cal.
Just learned that Mark Henry Berndt, the teacher at the center of one of the most horrific and creepy arrests in Los Angeles Unified School District history has had his bail UPPED to a WHOPPING $23,000,000.00.


He is facing 23 FELONIES.  Below is OFFICIAL BOOKING DETAILS from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.  He loved taking pics of his students in "bondage."  A film processor gave authorities some 40 photographs depicting blindfolded children in a classroom with their mouths taped shut.  A film processor broke this case.  WTH? Not the school staff or administration at LAUSD, but a guy who processes photos, presumably at a local five and dime store.


If I had a child at Miramonte,  I would pull them out IMMEDIATELY. Period.  No excuses.  No discussion.  Outta there. 

Berndt worked for more than 30 years at Miramonte Elementary School in an unincorporated area of South Los Angeles before being fired as a result of the investigation. Miramonte is in a poor, mainly Hispanic neighborhood. More than half of its approximately 1,400 students are still learning English, according to the school's website.  I am so outraged. How, how, how.  I hope this school is literally closed down until all the facts can be gathered from this "crime scene."  Wonder who else knew about Berndt?

This bail listed here is for only "$2.3 million." Actual amount according to NBC LA is $23 Million. How in the hell did this man be allowed on a school campus? I am now calling Berndt the "Miramonte Monster."
