HEAD WITHOUT A BODY FOUND ON TRAIL OFF CANYON LAKE DRIVE UNDER HOLLYWOOD SIGN

Incredible discovery today up in the famed Hollywood Hills. Almost directly under the legendary "HOLLYWOOD" sign off of Canyon Lake Drive and Bronson Canyon Drive....the head from a severed body was found by professional dog walkers.

I have walked this exact path for decades. I still have wonderful family members who reside on the top of Lake Canyon Drive. The dirt and concrete road is a walking path that goes around turn after seemingly endless turns with a view of the City of Angels sprawling below the canyon.

Today, the dog walkers had approximately nine dogs when two of the dogs started playing with an object in a bag.

Yikes. When they looked at the object, they realized it was a human head. WTH? They immediately notified the Park Rangers who in turn notified LAPD. Robbery Homicide Detectives have responded and will be handling the investigation.

The head appears to be male and did not appear to have been in the area long. The Coroner will make the final determination and will be picking up the remains tonight. Even more bizarre is that the head appears to have been put their "recently."

The crime scene is being guarded by LAPD officers, but investigators have suspended their investigation until daylight.
