BOBBY AUGUST CAPTURED! Parolee Arrested on charges of Kidnap-False Imprisonment

Amazing arrest today here involving law enforcement in the IE and the OC. 

One less Felon on our streets today. 

Incident: Kidnap – False Imprisonment
Occurred: Monday, November 7, 2011
Location of Occurrence: 3900 W. 5th Street, Santa Ana
Time Of Occurrence: 2040 hours
Arrested: Bobby August Jr., 29, from Riverside CA.

Officers were dispatched to a possible kidnapping at the apartment complex in the 3900 block of West 5TH Street. Officers contacted the victim’s family members who advised their relative (victim) a 24 year-old female had recently ended a relationship with her boyfriend. They believed that she was taken against her will by the ex-boyfriend they could only describe as a male in his 30's.

Details: The victim was visiting her family and they had just returned to the family’s apartment complex when the victim exited the car and began running to the apartment to use the restroom. After the family finished parking and went to the apartment, they discovered the victim was not there. Soon after they received a phone call from the victim who was screaming and stated that her ex-boyfriend had taken her. There was a struggle heard in the background before the line was disconnected. The victim phoned again and more yelling and a struggle could be heard.

Santa Ana Police, Crimes Against Persons/Homicide Detectives responded to take over the investigation. Detectives were able to identify the ex-boyfriend as a Bobby August Jr, age 29 of Riverside a wanted parolee. Detectives were able to track the suspect and victim to a vacant home in the Riverside County area of Perris. November 8, 2011 at 0230 hours with the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff’s the suspect and victim were located in the vacant home. Suspect August was taken into custody without incident and transported to Santa Ana Police Department Jail where he was booked for charges: Kidnapping, False Imprisonment, and the no bail Parole Warrant. The victim was found unharmed and brought home to Orange County.
