NICE SOFA, DUDE!
A narcotics investigation started by three Lancaster Patrol Deputies led to a search warrant at 6:00am on Wednesday (Oct. 12) being issued for a small ranch located in the 46200 block of 30th Street East, in an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County, just north of Lancaster. During the search warrant, approximately 100 roosters believed to be used for cock fighting were located. The deputies also found steroids (used to enhance the performance of the roosters), sparring muffs (used to protect the roosters during training), and a scale (used to weigh the roosters.) Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control personnel responded to the location and took custody of the roosters. The deputies also found approximately five pounds of methamphetamine and items related to the sales and manufacturing of narcotics hidden inside the trunk area of two vehicles, which were being stored on the property. The methamphetamine has an estimated “Street Value” of nearly one million dollars. Several firearms were also recovered from the location. A total of fifteen people including seven children were living in various sheds and outbuildings located on the property. Due to the poor living conditions and the illegal activity that had been occurring at the location, the deputies notified personnel from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services responded to the location and took the seven children, ranging from 4 to 17 years of age, into protective custody. Two female Hispanic adults and four male Hispanic adults were arrested on various narcotics related charges. Their names are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation.
