VICTIM FRANCISCO RIVERA: Sketch of South Gate bike trail stabbing suspect released to media

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are seeking the help of the community for information in the investigation of a homicide where a man's body was found on a popular and well travelled bicycle trail along the LA River in the city of South Gate.  Sheriff's Homicide investigators have learned that the victim was killed between 9:39PM and 11:30PM, on Friday, July 29, 2011. The body was discovered Saturday, July 30, at 1:30AM  The Los Angeles County 
The victim was stabbed to death along a bike trail, adjacent to the Los Angeles River, near the intersection of Burtis Street and Southern Avenue, in South Gate.
The deceased man has been identified as Francisco Rivera, a long time 50-year old resident of South Gate who had immigrated from El Salvador years ago. Mr. Rivera had just obtained his driver's license and had been celebrating that evening.
Investigators are asking the public for help in identifying the person depicted in the attached composite drawing. A man (see compostive sketch) was seen leaving the immediate area where the dead person was found, driving a 1999 or newer Chevy Blazer or GMC Yukon, with a light metallic color.
