DEMETRIUS DARNELL ALLEN: 23 year old Youth Pastor Charged with Sexual Molestation at Venice-area church

SAN FERNANDO – A 26-year-old youth pastor suspected of having a yearlong affair with a young girl was charged today with multiple counts of sexual molestation and other counts, the District Attorney’s office announced. Demetrius Darnell Allen, (dob 12-18-82), of Granada Hills, is scheduled to be arraigned this afternoon at San Fernando Superior Court, Department S. He is charged in case PA071119 with 10 counts of lewd act on a child, one count of possession of child pornography and one count of contacting a minor for sexual offense, all felonies. Prosecutors are asking bail be set at $1 million, said Deputy District Attorney Carolyn McNary. Allen, a youth pastor at First Baptist Church in Venice, allegedly began a sexual relationship with a young female member of the church, who was 14 at the time. The relationship allegedly started in March 2010 and continued through May of this year. The Los Angeles Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation.
