Today the grandson of actor Clark Gable has been OFFICIALLY CHARGED with pointing a laser at an occupied aircraft, the District Attorney’s office announced. YIKES. Not good.

Image via WikipediaClark James Gable, 22, who's (dob 9-20-88), is scheduled to be arraigned Friday at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center, Department 30. He was charged in case BA388055 with three felony counts of discharge of a laser at an aircraft.

Gable was a passenger in a car traveling down La Brea Avenue when he allegedly pointed a green laser at an LAPD helicopter that was flying above an event on Hollywood Boulevard. The incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. on July 28.

The laser light momentarily obstructed the vision of the two officers in the helicopter. They later pinpointed the laser beam coming from a small red car, authorities said.

The laser light allegedly flashed two more times at the helicopter before officers on the ground stopped the car at Franklin and Highland and arrested the driver and Gable. Prosecutors declined to file on the driver, Maximilian Anderson, due to insufficient evidence that he was aware the laser was being pointed at the helicopter.

If convicted, Gable faces up to three years in state prison. Damn it, Clark.
