It was not a "trick" it was a totally collapse of the stage that the legendary rock group "Cheap Trick" was performing on stage Sunday at the famed Ottawa Blues Festival on Sunday.
Incredible terror when the main stage at OBF collapsed Sunday night during the performance as a severe thunderstorm sent the band members and thousands of fans running for cover. At least five people were injured, one seriously. I just got back from the beautiful Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts watching Clint Black perform. I cannot imagine what the concert goers and fans for Cheap Trick in Canada tonight. The first video is the most graphic, and was posted by Mrrmac84. Here is his comments on you tube:
"Having no Idea what was about to happen I started filming the storm coming in and within seconds we were hit with an extreme gust of high speed winds which caused the main stage to collapse during "Cheap Tricks" performance. Caught up in the mayhem, I forgot I was filming as I jumped fences etc

Cheap Trick just left the stage about a minute or less before this happened due to terrible weather...People In Ottawa watching the BluesFest (annual event since 1994) were extremely lucky that nothing fell forward into the audience. No one was caught under the stage, police have stated that no one was trapped or killed or seriously injured, however one person was reported as breaking their leg which would suck, but it could have been a lot worse! Cheap Trick Narrowly escaped being squished! Apparently just played 'I Want You To Want Me'... hmm.
