Shout OUT to our PEEPS at the FBI here in San Diego today. Yep. United States Attorney Laura E. Duffy announced that Robert McGill has plead guilty to second degree murder for deliberately and intentionally killing his wife, Shirley McGill, aboard the Carnival Cruise Lines Elation cruise ship.
McGill has been in custody since his arrest by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation on July 16, 2009.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled to be held on November 8, 2011, at 9:00 a.m., before Judge Gonzalez.
This case is the product of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
