Nascar Nation, USA

I love NASCAR.  Totally dig it, especially on Saturday.

On Saturday at the NASCAR Nationwide Race in Nashville went off the hook when Pastor Joe Nelms praised "God" for everything from Firestone Tires to his "smokin' HOT WIFE!." WTF?
Pastor Joe.
Boogity boogity boodity.  Watch this clip, and GET to the TRACK, boyz, this summer on the round track is "off the hook...HOT!"  BTW.  Thanks to NBCLA Sportscaster Mario Solis for showing this clip on the 11 O'Clock News tonight here in Southern California.  I have to look up Pastor Joe on Facebook and "LIKE" his wife.   Oh, BTW.  Pastor Joe and his Church can be found by clicking here, or below in this pic that is now going viral on the internet.

Pastor Joe Nelms invocation was a huge disappointment and a lost opportunity. The invocation is to thank God for the opportunity for us to have such events and to bless all involved. Finally to ask his blessing to protect the drivers, crews and fans. This invocation was a mockery of the Christian faith and NASCAR should be ashamed to support such an individual. The invocation is NOT a time for entertainment or sponsor support. Carl Edwards should take some time to attend church today since you have it off.
Very sad that one of the only places where open prayer is accepted is being lost. Shame on Pastor Helms and NASCAR.

Whether or not the invocation was a huge disappointment depends upon whom you ask and many would disagree with you by the way. I know Joe Nelms and can assure you prayers were said to protect the drivers, crews and fans long before he stepped in front of that microphone. He is not a mockery of the Christian faith and you can pretty much count on NASCAR asking him back. NASCAR may very well be one of the only places where open prayer is accepted but you can clearly see he had the crowd's attention and is that not half the battle? Joe's real and that's a lot more than can be said for many who were not asked to present the invocation.

I agree with Spreacker. Pastor Joe looked like a total buffoon. I am a "Man of the Cloth" and I was embarrassed for my fellow ministers. NASCAR did a DISSERVICE to AMERICA and it's FAN for having this so-called "pastor" in Nashville.

WRONG!!!!! Praise God for Pastor Nelms! That man reminds all -- Christian (who's opinion doesn't matter, anyway) and non-believer -- that loving and praising and worshiping and praying to the God who loves and cares for us through Jesus Christ is REAL and FUN and a daily blessing in all that we do.

That prayer was an outreach to a crowd of people and who knows how many million watching on TV (and, now, YouTube) who never thought they'd be exposed to the true joy Christ brings us. And I'd bet LOTS of them showed up in Lebanon, TN this morning to see if they could get some more of that Joy.

And maybe -- just maybe -- God was just a little bit bigger than you detractors give him credit for and used the preacher's moment of "disappointment and lost opportunity" to grow his kingdom. But I'd guess you don't think God can overcome a "buffoon."

I love this DEBATE. CNN or ESPN of Fox Sports should have a debate on this event.

I have my opinions...but will wait before I give in my two cents.

Keep them note coming....

Whatever Dallas said...

In his EYES she is SMOKING HOT. To each his own. This was on my local radio station this morning here in Dallas.

I love the prayer Pastor Joe Nelms gave! He had almost everyones attention and I believe, personally, that God thinks it's okay to smile and laugh. He did more positive in a few short minutes for public prayer than many have been able to do in years.

Pastor Joe needs to be the NEXT MAN of the CLOTH to give the INVOCATION at the 2013 Presidential Swearing In Ceremony. He was off the hook!
