VIDEO: California Zephyr plows into truck in route to Emeryville from Chicago. 2 killed, 20 injured.

RENO, Nev.—

What a horrific crash and fire up in Reno yesterday. Federal authorities are investigating what happened to the driver of a big rig who slammed his into an Amtrak train that killed one train crew member and injuring dozens of passengers.

Peter Knudson, a spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board, said they also will look at autopsy results to determine whether the driver had consumed any drugs prior to the collision Friday. Incredible footage from the Associated Press has just emerged. Just another reminder of how dangerous it can be to travel on a train, these days. Keeping all the victims in my thoughts today.
