Rancho Santa Margarita, CA

What a sad, sad. senseless murder in Orange County last night.  Elvis Kechechian, a popular coach at Santa Margarita Catholic High School was murdered early Saturday morning.
Here are the details that are being reported about the horrific crime.

Kechechian,  had plans to hold a going-away party for a player on Saturday who was a foreign-exchange student from Finland who had just been drafted to play in a semi-pro hockey team.

Kechechian, 26, never made it to the celebration.  He was fatally stabbed early Saturday morning after a brawl outside a restaurant in Lake Forest.  At around 2 a.m. an argument among four men and three women took place at Albatros Mexican restaurant at 23591 Rockfield Blvd., near Lake Forest Drive, according to law enforcement officials.  The argument increased and someone pulled a knife and Kechechian was stabbed several times.  He died from his injuries. The suspects fled.

Santa Margarita Catholic High School RELEASED this OFFICIAL STATEMENT to the MEDIA about the murder:
"The Santa Margarita Catholic High School family is deeply saddened by the loss of Elvis Kechechian, the ice hockey team’s strength and conditioning coach who was tragically killed early Saturday morning. Our prayers are with Elvis’s family and the ice hockey team during this difficult time.
Elvis began coaching at Santa Margarita in 2010, working out with the players three times a week in the school’s weight and fitness center.
He was instrumental in the success of the program. Compassionate, dedicated, sweet and soft-spoken, Elvis was proud to be part of Santa Margarita’s ice hockey program and enjoyed celebrating the successes of the players and team. The ice hockey team captured their second consecutive league title this year and represented the state at nationals.  Elvis went above and beyond attending games and working with each player to allow them to reach their full potential.
“The boys are just devastated and enjoyed working with him,” said Assistant Ice Hockey Coach Mitch O’Brien. “They loved him. He was hard, but nice. We won league two years in a row; we’ve had kids getting offers all over the place to play hockey. He did a great job.”
The team gathered at one of the team member’s homes shortly after hearing about the loss of their coach.
“He was super dedicated,” O’Brien said. “We are at a loss.”
Our prayers are with Elvis's family, the ice hockey team and all who knew Elvis.ll be greatly missed."

Elvis Kechechian is a young man on a mission to do something constructive about the way we live our lives and harmonize with the world around us.

Trained as a gymnast, Mr. Kechechian discovered early how to channel his competitive spirit into more than titles and awards. He developed a way to integrate a superior physical condition with a nutritional program to sustain and enhance it....and in doing so discovered the mental balance that only the exceptional among us ever achieve. We recognize them, not only for their athletic accomplishments, but their sense of assurance in the way they approach all facets of their lives. Elvis knew that this life style was a figt and determined that he would make that gift available to more than the enviable few.

Certified by the prestigious National Academy of Sports Medicine and the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association, Elvis has applied his skills as a strength trainer and a performance enhancement specialist for sports organizations that included the critical initial training programs for beginning age athletes. He has also made his total package approach to good health in body and spirit available to a legion of Southern California individuals and business professionals.

Elvis was an amazing kid with so much to offer this world, this is just not right. Hope this killer suffers for the rest of his life in jail and every day is haunted by Elvis.

This is disgusting and what a weak and feeble thing to bring out a knife in a fight. You will pay my brother, you will pay. All of those included in this will get what is coming to them.

Words cant even describe what kind of a man Elvis was and what type of life they cut short.
