New ABC Unified School District Board Member to the Appointed on Saturday. Public Invited to Attend Proceedings. Who do you want the ABC School Board to pick?

By mid afternoon on Saturday, the ABC Unified School District will have a new Member of its Board of Education. 13 local community leaders will be interviewed by the current Board of Education beginning at 7:30 a.m. in the Board of Education Hearing Room located at 166th and Norwalk Boulvard.

The public is invited to attend the open public meeting or watch it on their local cable television system.

A vacancy occurred on the seven member ABC Unified School Board in March after former Member Mark E. Pulido was elected to the Cerritos City Council. Whoever is successful in being appointed on Saturday, they will serve out the remainder of his term that was due to expire this coming November.

Those who will be interviewed and their scheduled times are:

After a lunch break at nearby Whitney High School the ABC School Board will reconvene back in the Board Room and select three top candidates. After a discussion by the Board, a final vote will be taken and the new Member will selected.

The Provisional Appointee will be sworn in at 1:15 p.m.
