Tustin, CA

Today's awful rain could be a contributing factor in an accident that police are describing as a "dragging" death of a woman.

The woman killed, who's identity is not know at this time, was hit when the vehicle was exiting the northbound 5 Freeway at Red Hill Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. The body was found at Newport and Walnut avenues, nearly one half mile away.

The person who hit the victim is being interviewed, and has not been charged at this time.  She is reported to be in her 70's.  I can't imagine how awful she must be feeling this afternoon.  It was raining extremely hard at the time of the incident.

If you know the name of the woman who was killed, you are being asked to call the Tustin Police Department as soon as possible. Tustin Police can be reached at 714 573-3200.
