Water for Elephants. It looks bigger than life.
A story that is so powerful that it was destined to end up on the silver screen.
I am getting antsy waiting for the new corp of 2011 movies to be released. Right now we are all just have to sit back and get "teased."
Water for Elephants is a traveling road show that appears to make movie magic, has a monster cast that isn't clowning around..
This one flick has captured my "one eye." Catchy title. The main character is Jacob Jankowski (in his early 20's for this role is played by Robert Pattinson) is tossed by fate onto a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. Think PT Barnum on steroids.
Staged during the first Great Depression (1920's) and for Jacob (veteran actor Hal Holbrook plays him in his senior years) recalls the circus world that became his salvation and his living hell. Pattinson's character plays a veterinary student just shy of a degree, he was put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It was there that he met Marlena, (played by the sultry Reese Witherspoon) who is an equestrian star married to August (Christopher Waltz), the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. And he met Rosie, an untrainable elephant and only hope for this third-rate traveling show.
Going to hold off on the plot line. Looks like it could get steamy and violent (since their is an elephant as the main focal point).
Save your mula for the $8 buttered pop corn, $6 cokes, and $14 movie tickets. Mark "Water for Elephants" on your Summer movie ballots.
