 Long Beach, CA

Talk about a night of a couple of "queens" running around wild tonight in Long Beach!  Tonight was one for the books down at The Beach!

Maritime history was made, in Long Beach Harbor just around an hour ago when Queen Victoria and Queen Mary meet for the first time during a Cunard Royal Rendezvous.

At approximately 6:00pm, Queen Victoria sailed into Long Beach Harbor to meet Queen Mary, and the two ships exchanged whistle salutes amidst a sparkling fireworks display.

Wow.  I MISSED the big moment tonight!  Got any pics?  Send them to me.

Spectators ewwed and awwed.  Long Beach City Councilwoman Suja Lowenthal updated her Facebook Page some 58 minutes ago with this post:

"Elizabeth meet Mary...Mary meet Elizabeth. The fireworks are shooting right now."

Way cool.   If you live in Long Beach, get over to Ocean Boulevard for this mega royal meeting.

The Queen Victoria continues on her Panama Canal Adventure to Ft. Lauderdale.

This rendezvous marks only the second time in Cunard’s venerable history that a modern Queen has visited her docked sister ship; the very first-ever rendezvous was in February 2006 when, on the occasion of her maiden call to Los Angles, flagship Queen Mary 2 met her namesake, garnering international attention.

If you have photos from tonight's ultimate "meet and greet" send me one to economy4ABC.blogspot.com@gmail.com
