www.canterburyearthquake.org.nz New Website established to keep the PEOPLE of CHRISTCHURCH up to date on details on the killer earthquake. Prime Minister John Kay calls for "calm" and "compassion" in this "dark hour."

Image by mlinksva via FlickrEmergency workers are beginning to arrive from all over the globe to the horrific scene that was once the city of Christchurch, New Zealand.

Much of the historical portion of this beautiful enclave looks more like "Hell on Earth" today, and as many as more than 120 bodies may be buried under the Canterbury Television building.

So far, with numbers of those missing in the downtown area of Christchurch is up to 238.

Here are some updates from New Zealand, and some websites and blogs that I have put together for up to the minute accounts.

New websites have been "activated," and I want everyone to "bookmark" this below site and to pass it around to all your friends and to post on your social network sites (facebook, my space, twitter, etc.)

The site is managed by Environment Canterbury. It was set up to collate a range of sources relating to the both the September 2010 Canterbury Earthquake and has been reactivated in response to the February 22nd 2011 Earthquake. (This video is from a viewer who goes by the name "Redgoat87. Shows the streets outside of the downtown area of Christchurch).

Mayoral Fund set up

A Mayoral fund has been set up for kind donations to the citizens of Christchurch following the deadly earthquake.
