There she blows, literally.

A massive and violent blast from Shinmoedake, a volcano  in Japan, has broken windows  at least five to 10 miles away from the location, and "Mother Nature"has sent volcano experts into a lather.

The major eruption just took place a couple of hours ago.

So far their are reports that buildings were showered with glass and the volcano threw out huge clouds of ash and gas.

Thousands of people have already fled their homes.  Shinmoedake is located at the peak on Mount Kirishima, the location of the 1967 James Bond movie You Only Live Twice.  That was one of the BEST BOND flicks of all time.

"Volcanologists" (yep, love them guys and gals) have warned of more large blasts and possible lava flows in this entire region.

It is the first major activity at Shinmoedake in 52 years. You know we have our earthquakes here in Southern California, and Volcano's are now exploding left and right all over the world as of late, including Iceland.

Map
Volcanic debris, including hot ash and rocks, was sent more than 2,000m (6,500ft) into the air; fine ash clouds have continued to rain down on the area.  Domestic flights in and out of Miyazaki - about 950km (590 miles) south-west of Tokyo - were grounded last week. Train services and schools have also been affected.
