Chicago, Il

Supposed they held an election and no one showed up to vote?

Well, today, only a "trickle" of voters turned out Chicago's mayor election.

Ex-White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is on overdrive and is heading to huge win tonight. As a matter of fact, this campaign is over.  Start packing up Rahm.  You  ARE the NEW MAYOR OF CHICAGO, BABY!

It is the first time in at least 50 years that the name "Daly" is not on a Chicago Mayoral ballot.

Mayor Richard M. Daley, the city's longest-serving mayor, announced late last year he would not seek re-election, triggering a stampede that initially saw more than a dozen candidates vying for his fifth-floor City Hall office.

Here are the candidates for Mayor:

RAHM EMANUEL
MIGUEL DEL VALLE
CAROL MOSELEY BRAUN
GERY J. CHICO
PATRICIA VAN PELT WATKINS
WILLIAM WALLS, III

As soon as the polls are closed, I will keep my readers updated on results!
