A major 6.3 earthquake has just hit the community of Christchurch, New Zealand. Here is the official data for the US Geological Association. Christchurch is where the International Antartic Centre is, which is, as I understood it, the front door to every Antartic post out there. Of course it’s not impossible to bypass Christchurch to get stuff to the Antartic, but I wonder if this is another impact of this quake.
