Image via WikipediaLONG BEACH – A Long Beach father suspected of abducting his 3-year-old son last week after hitting the child’s mother was charged today with kidnapping and spouse abuse, the District Attorney’s office said.Gladimir Jesus Gamez, 24 , is awaiting arraignment this afternoon at Long Beach Superior Court, Department J. He was charged in case NA087833 with four felony counts, including child stealing and grand theft, said Deputy District Attorney Deanne Castorena with the Child Abduction Unit. He is being held on $500,000 bail. Gamez allegedly confronted the boy’s mother outside her Long Beach home late Friday and the two began to argue, police said. Gamez allegedly assaulted the mother, grabbed their son and ran off carrying the child. He was arrested Tuesday by Long Beach police. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in state prison.
