We now know the name of the person who was killed in our community yesterday in that high speed motorcycle crash over on Beach Boulevard...

The victim who was killed was Miguel Gonzalez of Whittier. He was 21 years old.

Gonzales died Tuesday afternoon after his Kawasaki Ninja sideswiped a passenger vehicle on Beach Boulevard in front of the Medieval Times restaurant.

Gonzalez was knocked off his motorcycle and struck an oncoming vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement is estimating that Gonzalez was traveling over 100 miles per hour on Beach Boulevard when the impact took place.

His body and bike soared hundreds of feet after the accident took place. The occupants of the other vehicles involved were not hurt.

Beach Boulevard and the 91 Freeway off ramp at Beach was closed down for hours on Tuesday afternoon and into the evening as investigators combed the scene for evidence.
