Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Bell. Vernon. Huntington Park. Maywood. Irwindale. Compton. Rancho Cucamonga. Bell Gardens. Temple City. Compton. Inglewood. What?  Wait a minute.  "RANCHO CUCAMONGA?"

Yep.  Another local seedy city councilman was convicted of a crime against the people on Wednesday.

Meet good ol' Rex Gutierrez.  Councilman from Rancho and now convicted of conspiracy, theft and fraud.

He was found guilty of taking a salary in a San Bernardino County government job allegedly arranged by a politically connected developer in which he did little work.

Prosecutors charged that instead of doing his job, Gutierrez took trips to Las Vegas and Monterey, Calif., representing the city of Rancho Cucamonga, and also that he informed his colleagues that he worked for developer Jeff Burum and not the county.

Gutierrez faces up to three years in prison for each of the four counts.

He will be back in court Dec. 15 for sentencing. This was his second trial. A first trial, in June, ended with a hung juryGee. My previous idea of producing the "Real Life Political Pirates" reality show could be moving ahead after all.

Randy Economy? Wow, you must be so proud of your work. I wish I had all the time in the world to come up with this bull shit. Here are a few suggestions: Next time, do some actual research on the crap you post on your blog. Judging from this ridiculous waste of time you call a blog, you're one of the biggest low-life bastards on the planet. I'm willing to bet my life that if some reject county attorney put YOUR life under a microscope, that you are more deserving of prison time than Rex Gutierrez, a man who never did a dishonest thing in his life. From the looks of you I'd say you probably half-ass your entire life, but lucky for you, you're not a politician taking a beating for it, and that man did all the work he possibly could. How many times have you downloaded music or movies or television online for free? Well hey, look at that, you've just become more of a crook than Mr. Rex Gutierrez; you and about 2 billion other people on the planet.

Get a life Randy Economy and don't judge people when you don't know them. Just because some damned district attorney says a man guilty doesn't mean it's true. You have no idea what is going on in that man's life and his family's. You have no idea what the truth is because you're too ignorant to seek it. Rest assured Rex Gutierrez will be vindicated and I hope your sorry ass will be in hell when he is.

To the last "anonymous" poster...

If Councilman Gutierrez would have followed the law, instead of breaking it, then we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place, now would we?

Take that finger and point it at Rex and don't blame the media or "politics" or "judges" or "district attorneys" for crimes against us taxpayers.
