It is "Blagomania" in the Windy City of Chicago today.
Today the jury involved with the ex-Gov. of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich is nearly a verdict on at least 2 of the criminal counts that he is facing.
The Jury sent a note to U.S. District Judge James Zagel, and signaled they "may be getting close to wrapping up their negotiations" and that a "partial" verdict could be announced as soon as the next half hour or sometime this afternoon.
The jury asked Zagel for clarification on two main sticking points in their negotiations....
First, they requested a copy of the oath that they took when they were sent to deliberate the case against former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
"Do you and each of you solemnly swear that you will well and truly try and a true deliverance make between the United States and ______, the defendant at the bar, and a true verdict render according to the evidence, so help you God?"Second, they asked Zagel how to fill out a verdict form when they can't agree on a specific count. "Do we leave it blank or report the vote split?" the note asked.
Zagel agreed to send a copy of the oath to jurors and said he would also instruct them to write on top of the verdict form if they cannot reach a consensus on a count. Blagojevich and his brother, Robert, is to remain no more than 30 minutes from the courthouse.
So, in my legal opinion....and trust me....I don't have a legal background, but I do know politics better than most....(he he he) Blago "walks" on these two counts.
Let's see if I am right on or off the "mark" on this one...
BTW... we need more "openly" corrupt politicians in America. It beats those sitting in the seedy "dark closets" like those here in city halls all over Southern California.
Right on, ROD!
