Voter anger is beginning to be heard on many Southern California radio talk shows about the "light" sentence that was given to Esteban Nunez on Manslaughter charges after the plead guilty to his role in killing a college fraternity member at a party at the San Diego college campus last year.
I want to hear from my readers. Is this "Fair" or is this "Politics at its worst?" Hit my comment section, and sound off.

Esteban Nunez is heading to jail for 16 years after a college road trip turned into a night of mayhem that left an innocent man dead from a stabbing in 2008.
The wild-child son of ex-California Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez was sentenced Friday to 16 years in prison in the 2008 stabbing death of a college student in San Diego.
Nuñez, 21, had pleaded guilty to manslaughter and assault, in exchange for a murder charge being dropped. A co-defendant, Ryan Jett, 24, was also sentenced to 16 years by Superior Court Judge Robert O'Neill. Sixteen years was the maximum sentence.
The sentencing came after emotional testimony by the family of Luis Santos, a 22-year-old student at San Diego Mesa College, who was fatally stabbed in the heart Oct. 4, 2008, in a street near San Diego State University.
Nuñez, Jett and the two co-defendants, after a night of drinking, set upon Santos in anger after being rebuffed in their attempt to crash a fraternity party. The judge said Jett started the street fight that left Santos dead and three of his friends injured. The group drove more than 550 miles from Sacramento to San Diego to attend the party that ill fated night.
Former Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez was in the crowded courtroom today when his son was sentenced. So, is 16 years a fair sentence, or did Esteban Nunez get off easy because of who is powerful father is and the connections he has in the California Political Underworld?
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villiariagosa wrote a letter on behalf of the younger Nunez to the court. Villiaraigosa and Nunez have been friends for more than 30 years.
Regardless, some are questioning, including myself, if justice was truly served in this case.

Baby Nunez should never again see the light of day. He'll be out before he's 30. He's slime.
16 years is nothing for the life of a young promising man he took from our family and friends. Screw you Esteban Nunez, and I hope you family is proud of you.
It's the maximum sentence on a reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter. The issue is not the sentence but whether the DA should have allowed a plea bargain to voluntary manslaughter in exchange for dismissal of the murder charge.
