Arrest warrant issued for Ex-Beverly Hills Mayor Charlotte Spadaro after she fails to appear in Riverside court on animal abuse charges

An arrest warrant for former Beverly Hills (90650) Mayor Charlotte Spadaro has been issued in the Inland Empire after she failed to appear for her trial on charges that she kept 242 dogs at a Riverside kennel without licenses or proof of vaccination.

A friend of Spadaro, told a bailiff that she was in a hospital. Spadaro and her dogs were evicted last year from her isolated home in the IE. Judge Michele D. Levine said Friday that the trial already has been postponed several times at Spadaro's request, and since she is acting as her own attorney the court can't proceed without her, thus the need for the arrest warrant. Bail of $10,000 was set and the warrant will take effect if Spadaro doesn't attend a hearing today (Wednesday).
