5.1 Earthquake rocks El Centro at 5:36 p.m. Shaking the Boarder Baby!! Did you feel it?

EL CENTRO, Calif. — A 5.1-magnitude earthquake near the California-Mexico border has just shaken a wide area of Southern California including San Diego, Orange County and the Inland Empire.

The U.S. Geological Survey's automated seismic reporting system said the quake struck at 5:38 p.m. PDT Tuesday and was centered 18 miles west-southwest of El Centro in the state's southeastern corner.

The area has been shaking with aftershocks since a 7.2 quake that struck northern Baja California on April 4. Did you feel it? Let me know. My mom was born in El Centro, and El Centro KNOWS EARTHQUAKES!

Meet Randy Economy

You may know me from my role as the Senior Advisor and Official Media Spokesman for the Recall Gavin Newsom campaign that established a worldwide blitz of interviews.
