DOWNEY - A person died in a horrific traffic crash early Wednesday morning and police were trying to figure out how the death occurred.

Trouble was reported at 12:49 a.m. at Imperial Highway and Lakewood Boulevard and initial calls indicated a vehicle sheared a fire hydrant.

When Downey Police officers arrived at the scene, they found a deceased person on the road, and an expensive damaged Porsche sport utility vehicle nearby, and water flowing from the sheared hydrant.

The name, sex, age and identification of the person killed has not been released.  As soon as it is, I will post it here on the Blog.
