Culver City:  Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Detectives are continuing their investigation after law enforcement personnel opened fire and killed a man who had just robbed an electronics store on the 10400 block of Venice Boulevard in Venice.

Culver City Police Department officers responded to an armed robbery call on Sunday afternoon at around 12:45 p.m., after a male suspect brandished a chrome handgun and fled the location with merchandise from the popular electronics store.

When patrolling the area around Culver City, an officer observed a vehicle driving erratically.  The officer determined that the passenger in the vehicle matched the description of the armed robbery suspect.  During the traffic stop, and while law enforcement was trying to remove the suspect, an officer involved shooting occurred.

The passenger, described only as a block male was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his gunshot wounds.  The driver of the car, a black female was arrested and booked for Murder at the Culver City Police Department.  The names of the man who was killed has not be released, and neither has the woman involved.

A chrome handgun was recovered at the scene.
