Funeral services for former Los Angeles police Chief Daryl Gates have been finalized.

Services for Gates will take place Tuesday, April 27 at 9 a.m. at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels on Temple Street.  (Humm. I didn't know Chief Gates was a Catholic?)

A visitation is scheduled Monday from noon to 8 p.m. in Deaton Auditorium at police headquarters. Gates, who served as chief from 1978 to 1992, died Friday at his Dana Point home from complications due to bladder cancer.  He was 83 years old.  No word yet on where he will be laid to rest.
